Some of my tunes are MP3s!

Keen-eyed surfers will have noticed a few changes 'round these parts... The old tracks are now dark grey. Those that have been remixed or updated in some way are now yellow. The latest additions are now blue. They are also now alphabetised by name. Just to add to the delirium of excitement, both new and old tracks are now 160kbs VBR Mp3's for "added freshness". W00t!! :¬)

  • Angel Influence: Works Fire - 6:25 @ 160k/vbr [7.3Mb]Works FireFolks! This one is deeper than the Abyss. Which is not actually a deep film if you think about it... but I digress. From my modest collection of out-of-the-window recordings I selected a brief snippet of fireworks from Guy Fawkes night in 2002. After miscellaneous loopings and generally smacking it around the chops with the mouse, it became this heavy dubbed out techno track. I am quite pleased with it. It's not Richie Hawtin but then, who wants to have a Thomas Dolby haircut and get their eyeballs tippexed? He does, it would seem.
  • Cunian Man: Dormouse Dub - 4:37 @ 160k/vbr [5.3Mb]Dormouse Dub*NEW* "...the squirrels jumped me as I was typing and tied me up with string, then tried to get information from me about the 'Rebels bases'. I said "Get off me I don't know anything!!!" Eventually, after torturing me for an hour or so with their hypnotic rodent music, they believed me and asked me if I wanted to know more about their struggle, so I said yes. They took me to the big tree at the end of the garden, round the other side. There was a hole I'd never seen before. I squeezed through it and followed the sinister squirrels down through the twisted roots and into a secret underground network of tunnels..."
  • DJ Flywheel: Proo - 4:05 @ 160k/vbr [4.6Mb]Proo*NEW* Taken from my forthcoming album "Antelope Phloor Phillaz", this is the sort of hip-thrusting moist-beat that all the modern kids love. It's actually a track which I've had lying around for ages, which I have "rediscovered" and improved a great deal. It features shuffling disco breaks with a slight, yet inevitable lemon-scented frisson of electronic weirdness. Don't ask me why it's called "Proo", because I have no idea.
  • DJ Sandite: Owler Barrow Geist - 2:53 @ 160k/vbr [3.3Mb]Owler Barrow Geist*NEW* This insane piece of bang-mode hardcore tronice (genres, my arse) draws its inspiration from the incredibly violent haunting of Owler Barrow in Lancashire. This rare bit of local folklore involves a witch, several brutal child murders, a twisted doctor, a 40-foot fountain of blood as witnessed by an entire congregation, a rider-less horse clip-clopping aimlessly through the fog shrouded streets, and that sinister looking fellow stood in the corner of your room... moving towards you... did you look, or am I too late...?
  • Frozen Paniq: Tang rmx - 4:17 @ 160k/vbr [4.9Mb]Tang*REMIXED* Now remixed to be harder and louder, but still basically revolves around a hard breakbeat rhythm with one of those pesky hats that comes in halfway through and a ridiculously loud acid bassline, which lapses into some spazzy off-beat time signatures towards the end. Not so much a "tune" as a "collection of noises pertaining to the shifting of your ass / oxen / any other miscellaneous farm animals in the vicinity." As for the title, the image reflects what I had in mind for that; yes, this is indeed music to lick the sweaty crevices of female tennis players by. Um... anyway, it got them vibrating on the floor at the 37th Annual Tupperware Modifiers knees-up last April.
  • Gold Collision: Amused Aerosol Beep Ape - 4:33 @ 160k/vbr [5.2Mb]Amused Aerosol Beep ApeCurrently tearing up the parquet flooring of old folks homes across Manchester! It's an 80's compu-beat electrodisco throwback type thing, recalling those dark days when beats were programmed with switches and kids could make a bedroom synth out of a cardboard box, some oscillators and a handful of wine gums. It has a nice lilting melody combined with a whole cathedrals' worth of reverb, but like much of my music it's completely inconsequential. If memory serves, the title is an anagram but I cannae remember of what; it's probably rude, if that helps those wishing to decode it.
  • Gold Collision: Romany Tander - 3:41 @ 160k/vbr [4.2Mb]Romany TanderThe second installment in the Gold Collision series, which will eventually build up into a comprehensive library of analogue dancebeat classics - this issue comes with a free girder-welding jig (postage extra)! Again it's a reasonable melodic repeater, with a mechanical bass thump and some wicked little computer bleeps and stuff. You know, just stuff. A learned friend said it sounded like Brothomstates using only disco as an influence, but to me it sounds more like Brothomstates getting down with Plaid and a cheap Casio while plummeting to their deaths in a lift. But then I would say that...
  • Gold Collision: Mister Nothing - 3:25 @ 160k/vbr [3.9Mb]Mister Nothing*NEW* Gold Collision series, part 3. Continuing the analogue tradition, we now witness the tale of nobody in particular. He is a cog in a giant machine. His mind-numbing office job is slowly draining him, so he fills his head with fantasies, flinging open the window by his desk and flying out into the open air like a bird. He swoops and dives amongst the tower blocks, buzzing the traffic helicopter and skimming the acres of glass wall which preside - nobody sees him. He is still at his desk. And then he kills himself. Well, I didn't say it was a happy tune did I?

Some of my MP3's are remixes!

Come on, do the banana whiffle with me...

  • Ewawoowa: Centre Streatham (Wisely rmx) - 4:30 @ 160k/vbr [5.1Mb]Centre Streatham*NEW* Here we have a remix of Centre Streatham, originally by Sarf Landon recording artiste Ewawoowa. It first appeared as a rough edit on his website and just cried out for me to remix it. Fortunately he was kind enough to let me do so! I spanked it hard with my special "garidge presha paddle", resulting in this faintly ridiculous click-mode shizzle. That's how the kids talk these days. Apparently. The full title is "Wisely's Harsh Hat remix". Enjoy!
  • Digitonal: Breakbeat Phase (Flywheel rmx) - 4:36 @ 160k/vbr [5.2Mb]Violeeen*NEW* This was a track by exciting northern beat combo Digitonal which was proffered as a sort-of sacrificial lamb to the remix gods, if you will. I did not like the original. Andy Digitonal was not too keen either. So I took the crisp, emotive violin samples, carefully loaded them into ReCycle, and BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THEM WITH MY HARDCORE MOUSE YEAH. The result is a tough, somewhat mangled piece of orchestral slam-tech which spirals out of control briefly only to regain command and march the dancefloor to its demise. In other words it's nay bad, like.

All your MP3 are bootleg to us!

Footware corner. These are not here... you are imagining things...

  • Autovon Pookbong: Off the Hook - 5:11 @ 160k/vbr [5.9Mb]Off the Hook*NEW* Er, slight problem; I can't remember why this exists. It's possible that it is merely the result of boredom, though that wouldn't explain why it's quite so good. The inane chart-bothering cough sweet that was Saint Etienne's "She's on the phone" gets the full Orbital rave trance treatment, giving the listener all the mental imagery of being zipped inside a kitsch pink and orange handbag with 4700 Haribo Sours and a crocodile for company, but without any scarring or indigestion. And let me tell you; I know indigestion. Oh yes.
  • Spacko Jacko: Earth Spong - 4:07 @ 160k/vbr [4.7Mb]Spacko Jacko*NEW* This one is the result of a statement laid down by one Steven Stunts of Detroit (in Cumbria) that to make a decent track using Michael Jackson's "Earth Song" as the core component was "impossible!" Those who hear this track may think that he had a point... However, the first public airing of this track garnered some 120+ downloads so I thought I'd stick it on here. What the people say: "It's a good un!" ... "You are a mentalist." ... "That's a keeper!" ... "Yeah, nice one." ... "You are barred from Serbia, please collect your marmoset and leave."

I'll be adding more stuff whenever I feel like it, so check back from time to time if you like the 'sound' of these. :o)
